Keeping Oregon’s economy strong through difficult times

Small business relief during the coronavirus pandemic

Standing Up for Small Businesses

As a former small business owner and former member of the House Small Business Committee, Kurt understands that small businesses are America’s economic backbone. He is dedicated to helping Oregon’s small businesses cut through the bureaucratic red tape of the federal government and providing them with the economic certainty they need to confidently invest, expand and create good, lasting jobs for Oregonians.

Kurt has worked to ensure that small businesses both in Oregon and across the country have the support they need to weather the COVID-19 pandemic. He added an additional $310 billion to the Payroll Protection Program and gave support to community lenders to provide continued relief across the state. Kurt also secured $35 million in relief funds for Oregon’s fisheries, protecting countless jobs on our coast. In addition to supporting the resources available through the Small Business Administration (SBA), Kurt also led a request that has made Economic Injury Disaster Loans available to small business owners in Oregon. These resources will ensure that Oregon businesses can continue to support our communities in these difficult times.
